Areas of expertise
My researches can be split into two levels: The first, basic science, aims to verify the neural origin of the motor modularity principle (i.e., muscle synergies), as a strategy to simplify motor control by the central nervous system. The second, applied science, attempts to explain motor (e.g., sport) performance. Here and as possible, my approach tends to identify the relationships between kinematic factors, muscular demands (force, coordination) and performance. At all, I mainly rely on motion analysis and surface electromyography methodologies.
